Oakland County Executive traveling to India to drum up business
Detroit News is reporting that
Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson and members of his economic development staff are headed to India on Saturday with the Detroit Regional Chamber to drum up business. Patterson will travel to Mumbai and Pune for one-on-one meetings with "people that want to invest money and hire people in the state," said Maureen Donohue Krauss, the county's deputy economic development director. "We've worked them until they are focused on Michigan. We are trying to lure them to Oakland County." The trip is funded by the chamber and county. The taxpayers' portion is $6,000.How things have changed! Didn't it used to be the other way around - folks coming here from India, seeking investment.
