Saregamapa the other Indian Talent Show

UPDATE: The GEEK in me had to do this!! Check out SA RE GA MA PA Contestants (includes YouTube Video) on Google Maps

Just last week I started watching Saregamapa which airs on ZeeTV on Friday and Saturday at 7.30 PM (Eastern Time here in US).

The singing ability of the participants in Saregamapa in my opinion is much better than the participants on Indian IDOL. The 2 particpants from Saregamapa who are just mind blowing are Raja Hasan from Bikaner, Rajashthan and Aneek Dhar from Kolkata.

This year there is an international flavor to Saregamapa. There are couple of participants from Pakistan and one from our backyard here in USA - Mauli from Houston, Texas who gave an outstanding performance yesterday getting a 10/10 from all the judges and even getting a hug from Salman Khan.

Here's the gorgeous Mauli for you:

Sonu Nigam in a "Sexual Favor" controversy

Sonu Nigam who will be here in Detroit on September 7th, 2007 has leveled serious charges against a prominent film critic, Subhash K Jha. Sonu Nigam alleges that Mr. Jha has a grudge against Sonu Nigam because Sonu Nigam refused Mr. Jha's sexual advances.

So what prompted Sonu Nigam to come out with this accusation? It so happens that Mr. Jha wrote a article in Times of India asking Sonu Nigam not to be jealous or whine about Himesh Reshammiya's success. This ticked Sonu Nigam off and Sonu Nigam decided to spill the beans.

Indian Green Card Applicants resort to Gandhigiri to voice frustration

Angry and frustrated with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, some desis/Indians have resorted to Gandhigiri by sending flowers to USCIS offices in Washington DC. All stems from the fact that USCIS had agreed to process all green card applications received by July 2nd. However on July 2nd USCIS came out with a bulletin which said that it is not possible to process all green card applications as the quota for 2007 has already been reached. Here's a YouTube Video Clip of flowers being sent by Indians to USCIS.
