April 1st, 2007 - Telugu Vocabulary Contest from 12 noon to 6 pm at the Novi Civic Center at 45175 W. 10 Mile Road, Novi, MI 48375. Objective here is to promote Telugu language reading and writing among the second generation while nurturing their competitive spirit and fostering teamwork. Great Deals at Best Buy Website or is it?

You find a great deal at a Best Buy Website and then decide to go to your local Best Buy store to buy that item. At the local Best Buy Store, the price turns out to be different and in fact you are shown a similar looking Best Buy Website which indeed has a different price. What happened?

What's happening is that the Best Buy employees pull up an similar looking internal website which has a different pricing.

According to CNN

Dawn Bryant, spokeswoman for the Richfield-headquartered retailer, confirmed that store employees have access to an internal Web site that looks nearly identical to the public BestBuy.com site. But she said company policy is to always offer customers the lowest quoted price, unless it's specifically identified as a deal available only to online shoppers.

'It's unfortunate, some of the situations being described,' Bryant said. 'What we've learned very quickly is we have not been clear enough in communicating to our employees the policy, and how to execute it in our stores.'
'There is not and never has been an intent to mislead our customers, period,' Bryant said.
